August Adventures

It was a super hero kind of summer...

I got a toy box disguised as a bench for our living room...
Julian was very excited about this purchase.

I think he thought it was a toy too :)

It was awesome not to have my nail polish
come off in one day :)

And this is what tornado weather looks like on a radar...
All that deep red = no bueno. Thankfully no
tornados touched down!

I'm not sure what this trip to the doctor was for...

...but Julian got creative with his sticker placement this time :)

Our neighbor gave Julian an electronic
toothbrush and he couldn't have been more
excited to have matching toothbrushes
with daddy.

We had some sort of animal living under our shed (something
similar to a muskrat) that despite Mario's efforts, would not
find a new home. So we had to resort to poison. We never saw
the animal again but a raccoon got caught in the crossfire.
That blue bowl was the poison...apparently it was pretty strong stuff
because he didn't get very far.

And here is a water bottle for size reference...the guy was
pretty ginormous! 

We went down to the temple in Nauvoo, IL with the youth
for my new church calling. They went to the temple and
got to see the sights! 

We went for a little ride in a covered wagon pulled by some
oxen...their heads were almost the entire length of Julian's body!

Nothing like some ice cream on a warm
summer night :)

Julian loves kitchens!

Even if it's in a log cabin :)

Nauvoo is really close to Missouri so we drove a little bit to
cross the state line :) Because going to all 50 states is
definitely on my bucket list!

My mom was still with us for this trip so she got to enjoy the
Mississippi River once again! Sunglasses were a must!

August was a full month! My best friend Cassie came out
for a little visit and tagged along for all my mommy adventures.
I was so excited to get to spend some time with her!!

This is a great summary of our friendship haha
Going almost 20 years strong! Crazy!!

While we were in Nauvoo, we got to see our old landlords
who are now serving their mission there!

We met up with some friends from the Quad Cities while we
were there too. I am going to be very sad when that
hat doesn't fit him anymore.

Although we have been to Nauvoo many
times, we had never been to Carthage
Jail before. 

It is where the prophet Joseph
Smith was killed. During the tour, the
Spirit in the home was so strong. It is
a very special place!

Santa Clause was also doing some sight-seeing in Nauvoo!
