Spring Update

Since last time we spoke not much has changed just a few little things here and there...Mario finished his semester (one more year to go!), I started another class (I'm hoping not to procrastinate this one), Julian is making some new friends (us too), and we've been working outside in the yard trying to keep up with the Jones' (aka the fleet of ride-on John Deere lawn mowers that sweep our neighborhood bi-weekly). Oh and we planted a garden! We're hoping we have more luck than our first attempt to grow tomatoes two summers ago at our apartment...We got one salad's worth of tomatoes the entire summer. Anywho, here are a ton of pictures :) Enjoy!
Our first family outing on the boat.
YA YUH!
Cheesy Cheesers :)

But really. They are the cutest.

Yard Saling! Our neighborhood had a big yard sale so
we joined in the fun...and work.
It was raining of course so we moved our operation
in the garage. We didn't make too much but I calculated our earnings
to $21 an hour so it was worth it :)

Julian's Treasures...Found this hidden behind our couch
during nap time one day. Measuring cups, rocks,
stick, remotes, and tools just to name a few.

Julian loves wearing a tie "como Papa".
I also think it is hilarious that it looks like
he is modeling the tie.
Papa and Julian built a temple out of legos one night
for Family Home Evening. FHE is a little family
night where we have a spiritual message and a little
activity or game...or both :)
I couldn't pass this up. Too cute! Julian's got
a pretty good little dress up box now...most
of the outfits either have a sword or a
gun but at least he is using his imagination?

One particular Saturday we went on an adventure! We started
trying to go to an auction but it didn't work out and since we
were already out in the boonies I convinced Mario to go to
Arlington, IA. It is the town where the previous Bachelor star
Chris Soules has his farm/lives. It really is a one horse town.
But I couldn't live 40 minutes away without stopping by!
In the town gazebo :)

Our Bachelor faces...apparently it is the same as the duck face :*

There wasn't much there but a gas station and a
meat locker. (A store that packages meat for
those who have livestock). We got a package of
bison burgers :)

After our adventure in Arlington, we were
hungry so we stared looking for food in a nearby
town and we ran into a tourist center that was an
old train station. Of course we had to stop!

Choo Choo!

The trains were soooooo big!

After the trains we found our way to an Amish community
where it was planting season.

Julian and Mario were amazed but the HUGE horses pulling
the plows. It really was quite an amazing site.

Julian's new favorite...cereal.
Atleast he likes the healthy stuff.
nom Nom NOM.
More Cereal...not the healthy stuff
Twinning :)
Waders + Life Jackets = a good time.
ROCKS!

J's latest ride
Enjoying some activities at the library.
Indoor, portable sandbox...what a great idea!

Finger painting didn't go over so well this time.
He wasn't a fan of having his hands dirty.

Julian's drags this giant bear around the house everywhere!
He even eats lunch with us sometimes.

Julian's new best friend Louie the Lab. He belongs to a neighbor
but Julian knows exactly where he lives and even which car
is his...or his owner's. We even have dogs treats in our stroller just
in case we run into Louie during a walk.
